Here are a few rules that we’ve found to be very helpful for our clients who are ready to create strong, healthy bodies as a step toward more fulfillment:
Create a daily habit of exercise first thing in the morning. Wake up and take a long, brisk walk, do some calisthenic exercises, ride a stationary bike, or something of that sort. The important thing is to be uncompromising in your commitment to do it daily, no matter what.
Make a commitment to a healthier lifestyle and tell someone else about it who’ll hold you accountable. Know that there will be many temptations along the way, but you won’t waiver from your commitment because you gave your word.
Start using a daily mantra of “I can do this!” and say it to yourself often, especially when you’re discouraged or tempted.
Never eat in front of the television or while doing anything else.
Eat off of smaller plates. Studies show that the bigger the plate, the more you’ll eat.
Eat slowly, savoring each bite.
Keep a food journal, writing down everything you eat. Be diligent and complete about this.
Learn to tune into your body signals so you know, on a scale of one to ten how full you are. Never start eating if you’re more than a three, and always stop when you get to seven.
Get regular chiropractic care to improve the function of your immune system and increase the functionality of your organ systems.
Avoid all caffeine, sugar and starchy foods, favoring green leafy vegetables, lean meats, nuts, legumes, and lots of water. In fact stop all sodas, diet or otherwise!
