This weeks interview is with a great guy Adam Packard.  Below is his story and I know you will enjoy the interview.

About Adam in his own words…

So here is a little about me….I grew up in a small town of about 3000 people, Winthrop, Maine.  For those of you not familiar with geography that is about 3 hours from Boston.  A great small town, about an hour from the mountains and an hour from the ocean.  I played basketball, golf, and tennis in high school – and did pretty well earning all state golf honors while being the captain of the basketball and tennis teams.

I had no idea what I wanted to do as I was finishing up high school.  Golf was and still is a passion of mine, so I thought a great way to have a fun career would be to become a golf professional.  At the time there were four schools in the country that offered Professional Golf Management (PGM) as a major.  One of these schools was Penn State University, so I applied (the only school I applied to) and got accepted.  Academically and athletically it was the perfect fit for me.  Plus, it was close enough to home that I could drive back if I needed to, but far enough away so my parents couldn’t swing by every weekend!

Starting my Career….

After graduating from Penn State, I started working as a teaching professional at an indoor golf teaching facility in Denver, Colorado.  I loved teaching and the work I was doing.  However, after about a year, and after giving 2500 lessons, I began to get a little tired of doing the same thing over and over again.  Most people think that being a golf professional is glamorous and exciting.  However, I quickly found out that as a golf professional, I didn’t play much golf, didn’t get paid very well, and worked very long hours.  I had to bartend at night to be able to enjoy the lifestyle that suited me at the time, and I knew that I was capable of so much more.

Change in Scenery…

After working for about 3 years as a golf professional, I got a call from my brother Jeff.  He was living in Scottsdale, Arizona and working for Tom Hopkins, one of the top sales trainers in the country.  Jeff was more of an entrepreneur than I was, but I loved to travel, and was looking for a change.  Tom traveled with two people who were his road managers, helping set up seminars and basically keep Tom happy as he traveled.  My brother was that road manager and the other he was working with had decided to move on.  The opportunity came for me to interview for the position and I was hired.  I packed up and moved form Denver to Scottsdale and began my career working for Tom.  It was an incredible experience.  At 24 years old, I was traveling the country, learning from one of the greatest trainers around.  The experience opened my eyes to so many different ways to earn a living.  I was only making about 25,000/year working for Tom – and in order to make ends meet Jeff and I were always looking for something to do on the side.

I’ve tried everything….

Working with Tom was great because it wasn’t a full time job.  It paid us a salary but we weren’t required to be at the office when we weren’t traveling.  Most months I would only have about 5-10 days of travel and work time.  In between was where Jeff and I were looking at what we could do to generate additional income.  I got my real estate license and sold residential real estate for a year.  I started trading stocks and options, and eventually got into day trading.  I even worked at a golf course part time for some extra cash.  Nothing that I did really got me excited and had the income potential that I was looking for.  Until….

Timing is Everything

When I was 26 years old I was introduced to network marketing.  As a golf pro and day trader, the last thing I wanted to do was get into a network marketing company.  A friend of a friend shared the company with my father, and then he shared it with my brother and I.  At first I had zero interest in starting a business out of it.  However, the product was amazing.  It was unique, it was fun, it was something that people really liked.  I started showing it to people and people signed up.  I quickly had success in the business, as did my father and brother, and we immediately got the attention of the company.  There are very few MLM companies where a father and 2 sons are among the top producers in the company.  I believe that timing is everything.  We always wanted a business we could run together, but I never thought it was going to be in the network marketing industry.  However, when I dug deeper, and wrote down my ideal business, network marketing fit the bill.  Unlimited income potential, helping other people become successful, a mobile business with no inventory, and personal development.  Once I got into the business and surrounded myself with the amazing network of people, I realized that I was in the right place at the right time.  Since the beginning, the three of us have all been top producers in the company, moving through the ranks quickly.  We continue to build that business as we pursue our passions, and it fuels everything that we do.

Finding my Passion and Living it…

Money can’t buy happiness, but it can buy freedom.  Being involved in network marketing and growing a large network has allowed me the freedom to live and enjoy my passions every day.   Our family has always been a goal setting family, and when I wrote my goals out a few years ago, I added a list of things I wanted to Be, Do, and Have.  My goal is to wake up every day excited, and passionate about what I am doing.  I want to share that with people and show them that every day can be the best day of your life.  Making the most of the present moment, working towards your goals but at the same time realizing that the real joy is in the journey.

My Passions..

It’s amazing to me that as human beings we have so much untapped potential.  No matter what we do we always have more that we can do.  I have surrounded myself with successful people in every area of life, and continue to learn and grow in all areas.  I love helping people find their passion and to live it every day.  I believe that being healthy in mind, body, and spirit are the keys to successful living – however you define success.  I am at my best and performing at my peak when I am feeling my best.  Through proper exercise, nutrition, personal development and self improvement, when I feel good on the inside, everything around me gets better.

My Goal with this Blog…

Stay connected with me as I continue this journey, we are all on this journey of life together and can learn so much from each other.  I will share with you what has worked for me to achieve success in health, both body and mind, and I hope to learn from you as well.  My goal is for you to find your passion, and as you do, you will take some of the ideas I share and the lessons I have learned, apply them to your life, and bring out your peak potential.  We all deserve the best, it’s time to enjoy your best life now!

To Your Success!
