Life is full of opportunities to learn. You can learn your lesson. You can learn from your mistakes. You can learn from other people’s mistakes. You can learn in school. You can learn from your family, your friends or even from complete strangers. But how often do you get to learn when the process of learning feels like pure entertainment?
A teacher provides content. A typical speaker peppers content with some laughter. A great speaker teaches you while giving you the experience of having just seen a great show. The superb speaker creates magic.
I love being a motivational keynote speaker because I get to create magic. I love having the opportunity to create an experience for a group of people; not just to impart knowledge to them.
Today was a golden example. I spoke to a regional meeting of Nikken International. It was a great honor to share the stage with the president of the company and their chief researcher. I started out with a magic trick and moved on to a couple interactive games with the audience. I provided content and taught my audience how to harness the power of silence.
Then, I had an impromptu hypnotic session with one of the participants. Through suggestion, she sealed her hands together and couldn’t get them apart, and she laughed uproariously whenever i touched my nose; without knowing why.
Imagine having someone entertaining and astonishing your next audience, and having a message to share which grows naturally from the antics on stage. This is what I do, and why I LOVE being a keynote speaker!
